ParaPro
Under the “No Child Left Behind” standards, instructional aides serving in Title I funded schools or programs in Ohio must have official transcripts verifying at least 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited higher education institution, or certification of ETS ParaPro Assessment completion with a minimum score of 456.
To assist ParaPro candidates who wish to prepare for this test, and instructional aide opportunities in general, we offer Paraeducator training in our computer lab at various times throughout the school year. The two sessions, spanning four to six weeks, consist of 15 online short courses focusing on Reading, Writing, and Math (“Supporting Instruction” and “Knowledge/Skills”), which are made available through our Master Teacher Learning Network license. The Tri-County ESC is also a test site for the State (ETS) ParaPro Assessment, which is scheduled within two weeks after the second session.
Costs for the training program and state assessment key total $190.00 (plus a $26.00 study guide (optional). Call 330-345-6771 ext. 228 to register for the Paraeducator Training Program and/or the state assessment.
