Tri-County High School Honor and Festival Band

The Tri-County High Honor Band and Festival Bands are annual ensembles open to high school students from Tri-County ESC school districts in Ashland, Wayne, and Holmes counties. Auditions take place in November, and students are placed in either the honor band or festival band based on audition score. Students have the expectation of learning their music by the first rehearsal in January. The honor and festival bands provide developing and advanced high school instrumental students with an encouraging, educational, inspiring, and rigorous band experience with students from other school districts. The culmination of this annual program is a concert featuring the HS Honor Band, HS Festival Band, and guest ensemble.

The 2025 HS Honor Band was under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Lorenzo from Kent State University and featured 55 high school band students. The 2025 HS Festival Band was under the direction of Mrs. Michele Monigold from Canton Youth Symphony and featured 55 high school band students. The concert was unfornately canceled due to a large snow storm.
