The temporary substitute teaching license, created during the COVID-19 pandemic as a non-renewable license, has been made permanent. This license allows individuals with at least a high school diploma to substitute teach, even if they do not have a bachelor’s degree. The license is specific to the district that approves the applicant and is valid only in that district for teaching in any assigned class of any subject area and grade level.
