ParaPro Training and Certification

Under the “No Child Left Behind” standards, instructional aides serving in Title I funded schools or programs in Ohio must have official transcripts verifying at least 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited higher education institution or certification of state ParaPro Praxis Assessment completion with a minimum score of 456.

To assist ParaPro candidates who wish to prepare for this test, and instructional aide opportunities in general, we offer Paraeducator training in our computer lab at various times throughout the year. The two sessions, spanning four to six weeks, consist of 15 online short courses focusing on Reading, Writing, and Math (“Supporting Instruction” and “Knowledge/Skills”), which are made available through our Master Teacher Learning Network license. We are also a test site for the state ParaPro Praxis Assessment.
