Recruitment and Training
Finding the Best Teachers for Our Schools
Teacher recruiting, along with training and orientation workshops, is a valuable service the Tri-County Educational Service Center provides for Ashland, Holmes, and Wayne county schools. A TCESC representative collaborates with colleges and universities throughout Ohio each year to build our candidate files with highly qualified teachers. Personal connections are made with 400-600 educators representing every area of licensure to familiarize them with our schools and communities while collecting and filing their credentials.

Training - Register for Substitute Teacher or Teacher Aide Orientation and Processing by contacting Jennifer 330-345-6771 ext. 228.
Instructional Aides
With ever increasing demands placed on the classroom teacher to individualize instruction for every student at multiple levels of ability and performance, there is a growing need for instructional support. Such assistance is often provided by paraprofessionals who qualify for an Educational Aide permit with an ESEA qualification (see ESC Services/Employment Services).
Training - A web-based tutorial program is available at the Tri-County Educational Service Center for anyone who may not meet the highly qualified standard (noted above) for instructional aides, in preparation for the state ParaPro Praxis Assessment (TCESC is also a test site). For the state ParaPro Assessments (see ParaEducator Training Schedule). For answers to questions and/or registration information contact Jamie 330-345-6771 ext. 243 or Rich 330-345-6771 ext. 230.
