YOUNG AUTHORS' BOOKMOBILE PROJECT 2011

The 2011 Young Authors’ Conference marked the 34th year of the program.  Over 300 students participated in the conference, which was held in the spring at McGaw Chapel, the College of Wooster campus.  The conference is the culminating activity to the creative writing process completed in our participating schools.

Each school year over 1500 students write books for the project.  The conference features a national guest author that publishes high interest books for students in grades 3 – 8th.  Throughout the day, children participate in small group sessions instructed by local teachers.  A fine arts performance is featured at the conference.  One student book from each participating school was chosen by his/her teacher to be printed in the Bookmobile Project. This is an anthology of one book per school that represents our area schools.  The Young Authors’ Conference is coordinated by the Tri-County Educational Service Center in collaboration with the Wayne County Public Library.  The students’ books are on display at the Wayne County library each summer for everyone to enjoy!  The Bookmobile Project is a wonderful tribute of our students/schools for their excellent writing each year!

Please view the Bookmobile Project and enjoy the stories written by our creative students!

This event is coordinated by Diane Pool, Tri-County ESC Consultant, (330) 345-6771, Ext. 253 or E-mail tesc_pool [at] tccsa [dot] net.
